He is listening!
Sometimes we can feel that our prayers have not been heard or that our prayers have been delayed and therefore have not been answered.
When Jacques and I were experiencing a miscarriage (before we had our beautiful son) we prayed ‘hard’ during this unknown season. We sought God desperately. Together we cried out for a miracle and asked God to intervene and rescue our unborn child. We knew that this situation was not from our loving father God.
During our journey we made the decision to believe and proclaim that our God is good no matter what the outcome. We were comforted that our God heard the cry of our hearts and that his heart broke for ours. We decided to stop asking ‘why’ as we knew this would only take us around in circles and we accepted we wouldn’t know the ‘why’ this side of eternity.
We went back to our foundation in Christ and reminded ourselves that he loved us unconditionally and his plans for us and our unborn baby were for good and not for harm. He heard our prayers, although we didn’t receive the miracle we were petitioning for we knew God was close and comforting us in many ways during our grief.
In this life some of our prayers can seem unanswered or not heard. Let me assure you our prayers are heard. The answers to our prayers are not always as we want or expect and sometimes there is a delay. Our sovereign God knows all and we can trust in him no matter what even when we don’t understand the ‘why’.
I want to encourage you to keep in faith and continue to be prayerful about your prayers that are yet to be answered. God hears them and wants the best for his children. God did answer our prayers to have a healthy baby within the next year, with the arrival of our beautiful baby boy who brings us much joy.
We continue to believe and have faith in God’s miracle working power and the power of prayer.
Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them."

Reflection: Are there areas of grief/doubt that you need to surrender to God, to remind yourself of His unconditional love instead of still wondering about the “Why” that could be holding you back from moving forward?
