He is: “The Way the Truth the Life”

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.” John 14:6 

Gathered in an upper room, the last supper has been shared and now Jesus is preparing His disciples for His departure. In reply to a question from Thomas, Jesus makes one of His most clear and remarkably reassuring statements of Himself to his dear friends. It speaks to the heart of our faith foundation, our relationship with Him and with that of God the Father; and it starts with a powerful and authoritative claim of “I am…” 

“I am the way…” Jesus declares exclusively that He is the promised deliverer. There is no other pathway to salvation, eternity in Heaven and peace with the Father. 

Rest for the soul can only come by one means – relationship with the Son of God.  

“I am the truth…” The world is seductive with its fluid, relative truths but Jesus declares unshakeable, absolute truth – eternally real and unchanging, trustworthy and sure! His Spirit in you in fact, is called “the Spirit of truth” testifying of Jesus, revealing to us the heart of the Father and exposing the lies of the enemy.  

“I am the life…” As a believer you are spiritually alive, victorious, free from the bondage of sin and death and have the promise of eternal life with the resurrected Christ. By faith and our testimony we believe it, trust it, live it because Jesus doesn’t just offer life, He declares that He is life itself. 

Today, be confident in the fullness of God’s character – the exclusive “I am” God of the way, the truth and the life. It is blessed assurance! Jesus is the way when the path feels unclear, the truth when the world feels uncertain, and the life when you feel weary. Let your heart rest in Him today — He is all you need. 

Prayer:- Jesus, thank you for being my way, my truth and my life. Spirit, show me how to walk more confidently in this so I can love others more deeply. Amen.
