Pray for blessing on our city leaders

Father God, we pray for our city leaders to have wisdom, discernment, humility, integrity, good health, open minds, and guidance, so they may lead ethically and promote peace and prosperity in the community.  We pray that they exercise sound judgment, serve the needs of the community and make decisions that benefit the people of the city.   We acknowledge the responsibility they carry and that their roles are challenging so we ask that you give them good rest for their minds and bodies.  In Jesus name we pray. Amen 

1 Timothy 2:1-3 (NIV) I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour.
