YOUR COMMUNITY

We encourage you to connect with your community. Meet your neighbours, connect with people in your work or school, get involved in local activities, join one of our community teams, or get involved in one of our community engagement days.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT DAYS

As a church we hold community engagement days throughout the year where we get together and get involved in what our community cares about.

Community Engagement Days include:

  • Westlakes NAIDOC Family Fun Day

  • Hunter Homeless Connect

  • Lake Macquarie Running Festival

  • CityServe

  • Seniors Christmas Concert

SENIORS CONNECT CAFÉ

Support our local elderly and help them thrive. We believe grey hair is a crown of splendour. Build relationships with guests from our local nursing homes as they attend a morning tea once a month and enjoy singing, games and connection.

OUR BACKYARD

Our people volunteer at “Our Backyard” every week to provide emergency support to people sleeping in their cars, waiting to access housing options.

PLAYGROUP

This team loves to connect with and serve young families in our local community. It could include set up, pack up, games, singing and craft activities. It is a thriving ministry in our church that connects Church to Community.

MENTORING

This team shares their knowledge and life experience as they partner with younger community members, helping them to develop practical life skills.

SHINE & STRENGTH

This team desires to create a safe, encouraging environment where young people can follow a program and learn about respect, value, esteem and resilience. They love to see the difference it makes in lives and are available during school terms and school hours

SCRIPTURE

This team creates an atmosphere where children are consistently exposed to the love of Jesus through the mediums of storytelling, skits, singing, multimedia, games and activities. This team is passionate about reaching the next generation for Christ.

MISSIONS TRIPS

Our missions teams at Macquarie go to India (Haynes Children’s Home) and Sri Lanka once a year.
