Great Faith
I would like to draw your attention to a key for coming through your trials without being too damaged.
In Daniel 3:16-18 we see Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego being forced through fear to bow down to the King, who is a false god. They demonstrate ‘Good Faith’, then ‘Great Faith’.
“Even if we are thrown into the blazing furnace, our God is able to save us.” - This is good faith.
But then they take it higher: “But EVEN IF HE DOESN’T, we will not bow down.” - This is Great Faith.
It’s the same faith that Job had when he said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in him”.
This faith is greater than death. They acknowledge God’s Authority to use their lives, however He determines is good. This is true surrender.
The Key is this: If you bow your knee to God in surrender to His will for your life, then like these three young men, you can come out of the fire unharmed, without the smell of smoke on you, i.e., No residue of harm, only greater trust in God.
To finish, just read these two scriptures to encourage your own soul:
Daniel 3:25 – “The King said, ‘Look, I see four men walking around in the fire, unharmed and the fourth looks like God’.”
Daniel 3:27 - “...they saw, the fire had not harmed their bodies, their robes were not scorched and there was no smell of smoke on them.”

Reflection: Do you see God as big enough to come into your trials with you and lead you through it and enable you to come out unharmed and more Godly than when you began?
