Join us for 21 Days of prayer and fasting, and a study of the book of Daniel. This is a TOGETHER initiative (our word for 2024) where we invite you all to join us, anytime over these 21 days, to pray and to fast as we all grow stronger and deeper in God together.
There are many ways to be part of this journey. Fast for one day or a number of days, you might choose a partial fast like Daniel, a full food fast, a partial fast, or anything else that works for you. Each day, we'll be releasing a devotion inspired by the series and on Sundays we will dive into the book of Daniel—a powerful diverse book with prayer and fasting at its core.
We hope you'll join us in embracing this TOGETHER vision.
Together.
We encourage you to do this journey in community - with family, with friends or with your life groups. Share how you plan to create a practice of prayer and fasting in the next 21 days and encourage each other to stay on the path whilst going deeper in relationship with Jesus.

Fasting.
-
Fasting was a powerful practise of Jesus, and one that we often don’t relate to today. It is a wonderful opportunity to worship God with our body, and exercise spiritual discipline.
Jesus himself said "I have food to eat that you know nothing about" (John 4:32).
In the bible people fasted together as part of the rhythm of life on scheduled days but also individually for many reasons:
Moses fasted for guidance (Exodus 34:28)
Jehoshaphat fasted for victory in battle (2 Chronicles 20:3-4)
Ezra fasted for protection (Ezra 8:21-23)
Esther fasted for deliverance (Esther 4:15-17)
Daniel fasted for understanding (Daniel 10:2-3, 12-14)
The Ninevites fasted for mercy (Jonah 3:5-10)
Jesus fasted for strength to begin His ministry (Matthew 4:1-2)
The early church fasted for guidance (Acts 13:2-3)
David fasted in mourning (2 Samuel 1:12)
The Israelites fasted in times of crisis (Judges 20:26)
Anna fasted to draw near to God (Luke 2:37)

21-Day Daniel Fast: Referencing Daniel 10:2-3, this fast involves abstaining from rich foods, meat, and wine, focusing instead on simpler foods.
