Because He Is “Faithful”

God is faithful to himself, Christians and you.

  1. God is faithful to himself:

God cannot deny his own faithful character.  He must act in a faithful way to be himself.

God declares that he will remain faithful, even when we are faithless, because faithfulness is his very character and he will always keep his word.

2 Timothy 2:13 “If we are faithless, He remains faithful [true to His word and His righteous character], for He cannot deny Himself "  AMP

  1. God is faithful to his children:

God is faithful to his children to sanctify and save them.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24  “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” NIV

Deuteronomy 7:9 “I want you to know that the Eternal your God is the only true God. He’s the faithful God (El Aman) who keeps His covenants and shows loyal love for a thousand generations to those who in return love Him and keep His commands.” TV

  1. God is faithful to you:

God is faithful to deliver any promises he has made to you, as long as you have met his conditions.

Hebrews 10:23 "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful."  NKJV

Hebrews 11:11 “By faith Abraham’s wife Sarah became fertile long after menopause because she believed God would be faithful to His promise.” TV

Application:

God's faithfulness provides a solid foundation of hope and security and is the basis for our unwavering belief in Him.

I can have peace knowing he will complete my journey of sanctification and salvation, even though I make mistakes at times.

Because God’s character is faithful, I can rest assured that he is entirely trustworthy to fulfill both his covenant of salvation (through Jesus) and any personal promises he has made me.

Because God is Faithful we can anchor our lives and faith in who He is, no matter the circumstance or season.
